Entry step Gear

Can anyone tell me what brand steps these are for my 07 Dynasty. The shop it’s at says they can’t find the gear to replace and can’t find steps to replace those either. Looking for the gear or a set of stairs ..

Your other thread had some suggestions for parts with links. Did those not work?

Mjmarlowe-

That gear looks a lot like the Lippert 165983 (link here). I suggest you call Lippert, with this part number in hand, and ask them to help you identify the steps and its parts. Customer service info, from one of their Web pages, is:

(574) 537-8900
customerservice@lci1.com

The drive looks like one made by Coachstep. Lippert bought them out. See the Coachstep slide products here. If it's determined that you have Coachstep steps, please note there was a safety recall on certain Coachstep steps. Link to recall information is here.

Lippert owns the Kwikee brand, too.

In my opinion, the gear in your photos looks OK.

You should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.

It's a Kwikee 42. Parts are available.

I had the same Coachstep Down and Out. Discontinued model, some parts are available. I replace mine with the new version.

It is probably the gear on the motor that has failed. Very common and easy replacement. uses a Ford power window lift motor with gearset attached.

Rock Auto about $30 RV part $100 Your shop should know bout this. Google 12v step motor replacement for lots of info and pictures/part numbers.

It was straight bolt up. I did have to change the magnetic door switches as the new products have opposite polarity. Had to use old style magnetic switch on the step for stair out light. Was a simple install with a floor jack.
