10Boomer you might loosen up the "fan" gear bolt and move the gear a couple of "notches" as the present stop may be worn. Sanford P. S. If it is a Lippard step there is a recall on them. Call Lippard and get that fixed.

Ok I will check tomorrow. Does Lippards web site tell you which ones are recalled? It's acts like a switch issue but hard to tell. Could it be the magnet in the door frame.
I suggusted the "fan" gear, because sometimes it could be stuck and therefore not operate properly all the time. I got that idea from someone who said hit the gear motor or something with a hammer and his step problem was cured until he had to hit it again. My step acted up and wouldn't always work so it was fixed by adjusting the "fan" gear a couple of notches. Your problem could be different, but I would bet on moving the gear first. Sanford PS Yes Lippard would gladly tell you which steps have the recall, I believe it concerns all of the automatic ones (electric).

I connected the step light to the stair lights. So when I turned the switch on by the door, the step and stair lights all go on.
I also put in all LED lights
I was thinking making this mod as well. Where did you splice the step light wiring in?

My coach has a separate switch which turns on 2 LED lights for the stair well. My step light is connected to the porch and grab handle lights. The stair lights are a bit too bright to leave on all night for my liking.
