Exhaust repair / upgrade

I recently had an encounter with a wheel stop when leaving a campsite. Chalk that up to make sure you are at travel height before moving. I did some pretty serious damage to the exhaust where it passed under the engine and tore the flex pipe apart. The kink is at the first bend near the turbo outlet. We got it home with our new performance sound and I got to put together a new system.

I was able to take my old downpipe to my local truck parts supplier and lucky for me , they had a good stock of various parts and pieces to create a clean looking setup.

I then connected it to the original muffler which is still in good condition.

Once that was done it was time to attend to the exhaust outlet. I wasn't a big fan of how Monaco set this up on my Panther, which I believe is the same as the Dynastys of the same vintage.

I had previously purchased this 5" polished stainless tip along with tips for the generator and the Aqua-Hot from Amazon. These are very well made solid stainless pieces. I have a link below.

I got rid of the whole outlet piece from the muffler on and used a very short 15 degree angle piece to direct the turn-down to the corner. But something still didn't look right. I then cut the tip off at a better angle to allow more clearance and just make it look cleaner. I wish I had a picture before cutting it but you have to use your imagination.

I have since painted the muffler with high heat silver and it looks pretty nice.

Here is the final outcome after finishing the cut edge and re-polishing.

Thank you. Glad to do it. I was very happy with the way the outlet turned out and it's hard to find good parts sometimes.

Take care.
