As you look for tips, stay away from the MBRP brand. I bought one for my truck and when it arrived, their logo "MBRP" was embossed on the side of the tip and looked terrible. I looked at several sites and everything in the size you need is 12" or longer.

If you buy a polished stainless tip, you can saw cut it (slowly) with a metal saw (muffler shop) and make it the length you want. I have a 12" fiber blade metal saw that I have used in the past to cut the stainless steel tips and then polished the edge. I'm really anal about exhaust tips sticking out just right, at the correct angle and correct size.

Gibson makes a good quality tip and has several in 5".

The 4" one I bought stepped up about 1 1/2" from the end on one end. Slipped right over my tail pipe. I'm sure they make a 5" one like it.

I understand, I sent back a set of rain guards for the DWs car because of a huge hideous logo.

I will go with stainless for the ability to cut it down with out damage and because it won't discolor like chrome.

I was out polishing my rims and mudflap and then finished off by polishing the exhaust tip. As I did so, I thought about the price quoted by Monaco. For that price you could install a new exhaust system, make a custom tip out of stainless or out if steel and have it chromed, with some money left over. Where do they come up with these prices.

I broke the handle on one of my bay door latches. They wanted $225.00 for the latch, unpainted!

Don,

If you compare the number of cars on the road compared to the number of Motor Homes on the road it makes it easier to understand why they gouge for MH parts.

Call me cheap, but this is why I would rather make a tool or part before buying one.

When she quoted $800.00 I told her that should be the cost of the whole exhaust system.

Get an aluminized 5" short 90° and a can of high temp paint.

Exhaust Tip

I have an 08 Dynasty..... it had about 8" chrome tail pipe tip..... it came loose (only had two spot welds on it) due to the roads in Oklahoma. So far I have not put it back on. My question is: Is it really necessary to be on there?

Thanks.
