I have just got one of those From Whitehouse about a month ago. I changed mine
from a 190 to a 210 degree valve.

Peter, at what temperature was your engine running with the old valve versus the new one? My engine runs at 186 degrees on flat highways. Maximum temperature on a hard pull is 201 degrees. And do you have the part number for the new valve. Thanks

Bill

Raising the dead...the Orifice's .019 seems to give 600rpm, what will the .018 be?

Also where to get one of these?

Ordered my wax valve from England so in a week or so I'll tackle this.

Thanks

Here’s a .015,

https://ph.parker.com/us/en/orifice-...-s-015-orifice

Or maybe a hydraulic flow control valve,

https://www.grainger.com/category/hy...control-valves

Please post what you end up with and what RPM your fan runs at. At this time I’m not running an orifice, so the fan is not running with cold coolant temperatures. This causes problems with intake air temperatures reaching shut down levels.

I may have to go to a needle valve if I can't find a .018-.019.

I'll post results.

I have to agree. I sharpened this size drill bits for an electronics company during the summer in my high school years. These drill bits are verrrrrrry small and brittle.

I just purchased a cheap wire gauge drill bit set on Amazon for $6. They work well on brass. You are only opening the hole by 1 or 2 thousandths of an inch.

Thinking I’m in the same place, fan running all the time on new to me used MH purchase.

05 Dynasty

Looks like around 300 bucks from White House Products in the UK.

I’ll be able to look at it more closely when I get home to determine what controller I have.

I was having trouble with my cooling fan after having the radiator replaced. It would run wide open after engine got to temp. I contacted Monaco Tech support back when they actually helped in 2015 and they told me to run to tests to check the fan motor and switching valve.
  1. Plug both lines and the fan should run wide open.
  2. Put a union in between both hoses and the fan should run at an idle.
I did the above and they then told me it was probably the thermovalve, which I did order from Whitehouse products.

When I took the old thermovalve out I found a piece of cloth in it, which was probably my problem. Cummins probably wrapped the thermovalve in a cloth while do the radiator change and didn't clean it good when the put it back in. Only cost me ~$260 to fix their mistake.

Also had to pull and install the driveshaft as they installed it out of phase. Also had to add screws to the metal shroud around radiator and add some caulk to keep it from rattling.

Does anyone know the gpm that the Wax valve see's? I found some needle valves but want to make sure their GPM's are enough.

Same for temp of the oil. Probably doesn't matter but I prefer to know.

Also just a fyi but majority of needle valves use Buna-N seals which are only good to 176-250* depending on exact seal, Viton seals 400*+ and is good with any oil.

Fan runs at full speed

My fan also runs at full speed always. After reading this thread I see the part I need but back ordered for at least a month and an outrageous price from the UK.
My controller is part #1091140 apparently superseded by 11163020
There are many on eBay that look identical with 3 wires and 2 hydraulic lines but different part numbers such as Sauer Danfoss Hydraulic Fan Controller Valve 1090322
Like I said it looks identical to mine. My question is do
You know if this would work as a replacement?
Thx for any suggestions.
