I want to install some hooks for hanging "stuff" in my storage compartments.

What kind of fasteners have you had good luck with.

The walls appear to be blow molded polyethylene?

That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling for screwing into.

You can screw into the poly, it holds pretty good for lightweight stuff.
It seems a lot of people use fairly large pop rivets that seem to hold better and stay tighter than screws.

BIG pop rivets sounds like a pretty good solution. Anybody think they have a better idea?

I'd like to be able to support some things like the bottom half of the rear ladder.

I have some rivets that I think would work well for your need. A friend that repairs EZGO golf carts gave them to me for a project so I never had a package of them to tell you a name. They are used to fasten the EZGO body to the frame adn you can probably get them at a golf cart shop. The back portion of the rivet spreads like a spider web to give lots of holding power

I don't know what they are called buy they hold great in fiberglass and should work in plastic as well. I would suggest a backer(reinforcement) to distribute
