I just placed an order for $268 worth of filters to keep my Cummins happy. Should be a two year supply unless I get some bad diesel. Now all I need is a few gallons of Rotella T-type or Delo, a couple of bags of kitty litter and a few rolls of paper towels.

Merry Christmas to all you folks in MonacoLand.

I use the Delo 400LE, only because it is easyer to locate.
I believe Delo 400LE is the only Delo offered now.
Confirming with Cummins that this oil is good for older engines and newer style Low Emmision engines.

Thought the Kitty Litter was for (Cat) owners.

I admire your sense of adventure. I usually end up with more oil on me and the wife wont let me get within a mile of the house.

I did good today. Found the Delo at WallyWorld for around $10 a gallon. Disposed of my last oil change in their recycle pit. Used the same 5gal bucket to catch the drained oil without spilling a drop! Poured the old oil in a local waterway which is populated by endangered stangin' digutus snails. (Not really. Everyone knows those aren't on the endangered list.)

Anyway, she is purring like a new Singer sewing machine and to my educated ear, I feel like she will get at least 16 MPG.

How often do you guys replace the coolant filter? I recall reading that it should be at every oil change(?).

Yall have to excuse SacTC, he`s from CA.-- The newer 400ISL`s don`t have the coolant filter -- I`ve had the Cummins with the filter, but changed ever 2nd oil change -- Check for a shutoff valve by the filter -- If not, you`ll lose some coolant -- William Willard -- My East Texas name is Billy Paul Willard

Bama, According to my manual, You spilt over a gallon if you caught it all in the same 5 gallon bucket...

Doh! No mercy!

They got ya Sacs. You too young to remember these antique engines. She definitely has what looks like a filter and it's loaded with some sort of chemicals for the treatment of said coolant. I have not noticed a shut-off though and I didn't report the amount of coolant I dumped on the floor! I will find that shutoff if mine has one.

Yep, the 5 gal bucket held everything that drained out. I had a second bucket standing by just in case. The filter went into the second bucket. New filter held almost a gallon (maybe 3 qts) and she was about a quarter-inch low on the stick (2-qts?). 'Preciate you watchin' my back Bill.
