Glad to hear you are ok, Steve. Based on one of your posts a while back, I put two more extinguishers in the kitchen and bedroom when we bought the coach last June. We had some work done at Alliance last month and were impressed with their work. That place is "YUGE!" The service writer told me that they keep house refrigerators in stock for converting from Norcold. BTW the parts department is well stocked and very helpful.

Glad it all worked out Steve. A little off subject, but is Mac the Fire Guy still in business, I can't find any web presence of him anywhere and wanted to buy a couple of extinguishers from him.

He is still around but I saw a post recently saying that he was having problems with his web site. Keep checking.

I too agree that wire nuts, Epically when connecting stranded wire to solid wire are often a problem.. I've had to re-do a few of those,, I tend to break out the big solder gun and do 'em right. But then I'm an Electronics type and we use Big (And small) solder guns and irons... .
ALso in a A/C you have vibration issues, if the wires are not properly protected insulation can bet cut through fairly easily and.. Well. Nuff said, wire nuts if not anchored properly can come off, and so on.
Page 2:
Friend of mine in Greater Detroit just had a house fire.. So now he's relying on the kindness of friends for lodging.. This time he was home and got it put out before major damage happened.
Last time he was at a Science Fiction Convention along with his landlady, and when she went home to feed the fur kids she found the Fire Department making a house call.. He, and one of the fur kids, lodged with me till the house was rebuilt.
HIS 2nd House fire:
With small fires: Best place to be is where you can extinguish them
With large fires: Best place to be is... Elsewhere.

Thanks for the thread, Steve.
I buy a new pair of extinguishers every few years but, for some unknown reason, I've always left them in the box beside the driver's seat. I guess I thought I could always get to them and maybe one might not be enough.
Well, in light of your story, I now have one mounted right beside my side of the bed so there are no wasted steps when the wife yells "FIRE". My concern now is only dreaming "FIRE" and grabbin' & shootin' before being fully awake. LOL
