Randy Would you still have the Item # for that Freightliner air intake hose. I've been to two Freight-liner dealers so far telling me they can't find it.

Flexible air duct to air filter
I've got an 06 Camelot with the ISL400. We were driving back to California from Arizona last month, about 30 minutes east of Needles, when my wife asked if there was supposed to be black smoke pouring out of the exhaust. We were on level highway so everything seemed fine but I saw the boost gauge was at zero. Pulled over to a truck stop and found the flexible duct from the roof to the air filter had disconnected. When I reconnected the duct everything was fine. This happened twice...the second time I was in traffic so that was a bit scary. I talked to my service guy and they had trimmed the duct because it was worn and had a hole in it. I guess shortening it must have put stress on the duct in some way.

Here's a couple of choices
Thermoplastic Rubber Industrial Duct Hose
and
High Temperature Duct Hose

Air Intake Hose
I recently purchased a 2007 Monaco Camelot and need to purchase a new intake hose. I did some research on the air filter I have and is the same one used in these pictures. My research showed the correct air flow intake to be the connection on the side of the filter assembly, NOT the connection at the end. It makes sense as the effective filter area is greater on the outside of the filter element. I thought I would share this with everyone.

You are correct, the side intake is the preferred routing. The Farr designed Eco and Ecolite filters that many coach builders love to use are rated to flow air in either direction and many installations route the air flow from the end I put to side out.

Had the same issue with my 97 Windsor. Did a search on this forum and found the source for the original hose.
Traveling today so you'll have to do the search.
Best of luck.

Air Intake Hose
Thanks for the information on the ability to use either intake. I didn't know that but it doesn't surprise me. My guess is the side intake is preferable because the usable filter area is larger and will take longer to plug up with dust, etc. I believe I have room to switch mine around. All I need to find is the flexible tubing for the intake. Mine is shot.

It's just an air duct, so as long as what you use doesn't collapse under load from being too small or soft and doesn't explode with a bit of heat, you should be good...
In fact, the type of hose that comes stock is probably NOT the best type to have good laminar flow, so anything with a smooth interior and 'soft' bends will probably flow more air !
What's to stop you from using insulated ac ducting ?!? Cold air intake = more horsepower !!!

Sue is very good at Vuerrinks and has helped me many times with parts, I think Blastgate though may be more economical at least it was when I needed my hose. Travel Safe everyone.....
