Fresh front end!

I just finished removing that old ugly 3M film off my 2002 Windsor and it looks awesome! What a job by the way.....The problem is, now I’m afraid to go on a road trip and wreck my nice work! I have put 2 coats of wax on the front end to try to protect it, but know that won’t help much. Guess I just need to not worry about it and deal with the consequences. But it looks SO good! You could attach a clear Plexiglas front shield.
OR just don't drive at night.

Yea I did. I used a handheld clothes steamer to soften the plastic and scrape off with plastic razor blades. This is the easy part. I then used several chemicals like 3M citrus remover and some others and just did a small area at a time. It is time consuming but worth it.

You could drive in reverse from now on?

How about a automotive clear wrap? I had the front end of my Chevy wrapped after seeing other trucks with painted bumpers full of stone chips. So far, I have been very happy with the results and the bugs just wipe off. Here are some videos.

Is there a better adhesive product available today that does not have the "down sides" of the old product from 20 years ago? The vynal wrap technology has advanced a lot. I am just asking. Other than the Big plastic shields or bra, the only option I know of is touch up paint.

I’d consider replacing with the newer Diamond shield. Looks like you got 15 years protection from the old version. Trust me, leave it unprotected and you will regret it. Mine was also perfect when I removed the old DS, now a few years later it looks like it was hit with shotgun blasts.

Do any of you know if there is any kind of DIY product we can use to protect the front end? Maybe a spray on liquid that hardens or something?

I agree. My DS is now 15 years old and just starting to show signs of failing.

When I look at my DS and realize the beating it has taken over the years I will probably replace it with more DS or an upgraded product from 3M

Painting the front of a coach has to be very pricey and then once the paint is re-done going and exposing it to the damage from road debris again in short order.... 15 years service life from DS is a pretty good lick for the price IMO

Happy Trails

Look up PPF (Paint Protection Film). If you spend the time to clean it up, spend the time to protect it again.

Seen Utube test with rocks dropped on shield materials, plastidip, PPF was most durable. Don't know how it would look in 15yrs. I've seen some RVs that look great with a BRA but know ,seen and repaired damage from them. But I have considered a film faux bra with big Monaco cut emblem. My front is kinda chipped. I have paint and body experience to repaint but low on list for now.
