Fuel/water separator Racor RK 12963

I changed the filter on the Racor RK 12963 fuel/water separator today. I try to do by the manual . I turn the ignition on. The green light was on the control panel. Back in the engine compartment. When I push the air purge button the lights went out in just a few seconds and nothing. I was holding in on the schrader valve at the same time and nothing. I repeated this about 4 to 5 time with no luck. I don't think that it's pumping like it should. I did get it started. My question is has any one had to replaced it? With what? And will it pressurizing the fuel system like this one should do. I think there is a more updated one out there since they superceded the filter with a newer one and a retrofit kit. part #1-PK12963

I recently installed a Racor 790R30 with integrated pump. Was able to prime the filters installed dry.

Gives me peace of mind if I happened to run out of fuel on the road.

On a recommendation from Mike Cantor, we replaced the original fuel system with the Raycor unit mainly because of the failure rate of the original ones.

Fuel/water separator Racor RK 12963

I installed the same 790R30 on our 1994 Signature.

I believe our 2005 Signature had the 790R30 as original equipment as the control box was there, but the filter housing did not have a pump integrated.

The 790r30 was a simple plug and play re-installation.

I also installed shutoff valves in the fuel lines to eliminate any fuel running out of the lines or draining back to the tank when changing the filter.

Thanks. looks like the Racor 790R30 is the one to go with.
