Gaggenau Model 232232CA stovetop - Monaco got it wrong.

Our propane cook top was burning yellow and making a sooty mess, and a friend who runs a restaurant equipment company was visiting us and insisted we look to see if the air/gas balance could be adjusted. It can't, and it turned out that the diffuser that sits between the cap and nozzle had been overheated at one point and was distorted.

Monaco claims on the build sheet that it is a Gaggenau 232232CA on the build sheet and gives a serial number. I spoke with Gaggenau and they couldn't help, but my friend decided to look for the model number because the parts we could find didn't look the same. Turns out it isn't a Gaggenau at all.

It is a Seaward Products 2277-1000, and they have been sold to Whale, except for the liquid propane products, and for them Sure Marine in Seattle has the parts.

$20 for the diffuser and $8 each for the knobs.

Are you the original owner??

I know some people have changed out there cook tops to different brands. Most of the OEM cook tops are fairly low BTU and people want to upgrade.

This may explain the difference.

It could have been an oversight. Bend Beavers had Gaggenau stove tops. The 2006 model was built in Coburg and someone could have forgotten to update the build-sheet from the 2005 model.

I'm pretty sure it is original, the issue is not so much they got it wrong as a useful bit of info for anyone else who has a problem with the unit.

I'm actually rather glad it isn't a Gaggenau - when the two knobs split a couple of years ago Gaggenau wanted $90 for the two of them. I fixed them at the time by wrapping wire around the split stems and it has held. Two replacements for this unit were $8 each.

In my 2002 Windsor Monaco had installed a 3 burner Atwood cook-top which my wife hated because the burners were not large enough to produce a really hot flame. All of the burners were small.

I replaced it with the Gourmet Princess G-2277 which is what you have in your coach. I have not had any problems with the diffuser however I've had to replace the Bakelite knobs which do not last as they dry out from the heat and then crack. I have purchased at least 3-4 sets now since the stove went in back in 2012. Basically they are located too close to the burners which cause them to fail.

I've been looking for two metal knobs that would fit but haven't found any so far.
