Gas MH Generator Gas Type?

Do gas motorhomes typically have gas, LP, or diesel generators?

My friend's family has a 33SFS Monaco Monarch that we were discussing.

We haven't seen it since we are on vacation but were curious if there was a typical type that was used.

Thanks!

Typically the gen in a motorhome uses the same fuel as the engine as it comes from the same fuel tank. The pickup tube for the fuel line to the gen is set to not allow fuel to flow to the gen once the tank reaches a certain level.

Motorhomes typically have ONE FUEL TANK that feeds both the main engine and the generator.. The top 3/4 is of the tank is shared (last quarter tank is reserved for the main engine).

Most Motorhomes (not all now days) also have Propane tanks for cooking and heating only.. NOT for engine power.

Some folks opt for a PROPANE generator but I recommend against as...

Well if it's full I hold 70 gallons of gasoline of which about 50 are shared
I only hold about 25 gallons of propane (bit less) and propane has less PUNCH than Gasoline so my 25 gallons might do the job of 20 of Gas (Estimating, did not do the math) THis means 2.5 times the run time with Gasoline and full tanks.

Suggestion: If Wally-docking or Flying-J Docing

Fill the tank before you park.
