Just had Rv gel coat restored over here in the Uk
Just posting to let people know it can be done.
We tried ourselves for a couple of years, but to no avail.

Looks great Steve

Thanks so much for sharing your success
Those Monacos are certainly well worth maintaining in prime condition.

Are there professional persons that you can hire to restore and Detail rvs and vehicles.

His coach certainly turned out great for sure.

To answer your question, I looked into this a few times and found that what you need to do is find someone who can do paint correction process.

Sometimes this process involves wet sanding and requires hours and hours of machine rubbing and working your all way up to fine polishing.

I got quotes from professional to do so anywhere from $1.5k to $3.5 k so I decided to do mine myself in my garage.

I took my time section by section and took a few weeks but I work slow and was in no hurry.

If someone starts talking waxing I would be nervous , waxing makes water bead up and nothing more ..and contrary to popular belief there is no sun protection in car waxes and that is why you don't SPF rating on car wax containers.

UV protection is in the paint finish.

The sun is your coach's enemy and we seem to spend most out time chasing the sun.

Here is some pics of my 15-year-old paint after paint correction and working my way up a few steps with McGuire products.

My steed stays inside for the most part so hopefully, this is the last time " I" have to do because if it has to be done again I will be pulling out my wallet.[ATTACH]Click image for larger version

25 = $1.09 if that is that correct? ....for a guy with that talent that did yours... IMO it was reasonable at twice the price.

Again your coach looks great.

Happy Trails

I started doing our MH last week.

Started wet sanding with soapy water and 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper then used Oxidation remover with an orbital buffer and finishing with wax.
It's looking great but it is a long process.

Good luck with your process .... it's a lot of time on a ladder but worth the effort.

I want to keep the coach looking as good as possible ...I have to sell it someday so I can have lunch money when I get to the nursing home should that day come.

ps: I got a bit overwhelmed and tired a few times along the way but doing it in small sections and seeing the results give me the motivation to continue on.

Happy Trails

Finally finished and the MH looks great. Took a few days off here and there, so I would guess it actually took me three weeks to complete.

Would someone be kind enough to describe the process or steps to do this?
