I think you're right.
I think the dash switch overrides everything - but just in case, I would check the auto-start/run program and see if it is set to auto run when batteries get low (and if batteries actually are low in charge) or set to run at a specific time.

Did you get it shut down? Slide it forward and try the rocker switch on the generator control panel, itself? I agree, it sounds like a switch problem. But like Mike said, it could be the AGS system causing the problem. I would expect the dash switch to override that, though. Wow!

I can shut gen off using switch on the generator itself. Need to find a switch that allows "warm up" option on it. Thanks for reply guys

Good morning, Butch
I had to replace a switch several years ago, and I narrowed my search to the Carling V-Series II-III switches.
If your coach is like ours, you will want a DPDT, momentary, ON - OFF - ON, with indicator light. You might give the folks at NW RV Supply a call, and they likely will have one for you.
GEN ON/OFF Switch V8D2: nwrvsupply.com

Looks from the first link like NW RV Supply will be able to help you, Butch. Yay!

We have 3 switches on our 2011 - one on the genny, one on the dash and one mid-coach - try the other switches to isolate it to the dash switch

Possibly a disconnected wire. Verify that each switch has all the wires connected. Also look for any inline fuses.

Yes I do have AGS, why? I wouldn't think both switches would be connected in Shut down position on them. I am going to call Onan Monday. Thanks again for comments guys.

Maybe the settings on the auto gen start is preventing the shut off ( DC volt)
