Generator help
Well ready to leave for vacation and the Generator is running but no power to the coach. Never had a problem with this in the past. The Aladdin is showing no AC power selected and then leg 1 is open. Checked all the breakers. Also turned everything off and back on. We have shore power. Also checked the salesman switch. Any ideas?

Agree with above. If circuit breakers are on and it works on shore power. Looks like your transfer switch isn't working.

Gen breaker was checked. Transfer switch was my guess. Nothing inside was burned or looked damaged.

Must be transfer switch not transferring then unless you have a power supply protector/ surge protector.

Yes everything is working on shore power. Could this just be a loose connection? Aladdin says Input leg 1 is open. That would mean it's not completing the circuit right?

Each leg is a complete circuit to ground. I'd say it either a bad transfer switch or loose connection. They are easy to check.
Make sure you turn off your generator. I hook shore power and turn off your 50 amp circuit breakers. Then check your transfer connections. I've heard of them getting loose.

Take a multi meter and check systematically. Begin at generator and check for voltage, with generator running and shore power disconnected. Continue down the line of distribution until you lose voltage checking with meter.

Thank you for your help. Some if the connections were just a little loose. Maybe 1-2 turns of the screwdriver. But still nothing. So I tapped (kind of hard) on the transfer switch and I had power.

Good to know it was an inexpensive fix this time. If it continues to happen the transfer switch is getting weak and will eventually fail. It may go another 5 years and work fine.
