Generator Problem

2010 Monaco Diplomat 42 SKQ 10HDKCA11506C Onan Genset. After dry camping for several days with the Gen. running just fine. When trying to restart later in the day, the gen. would not even turn over. My unit was serviced at Alliance about 60 running hours ago and has functioned well since. When I press the start, I hear the solenoid, glow plug click but no cranking over. Batteries at full charge and full voltage at connecting lugs at rear of Gen. Light odor of burnt wires. Not afraid to tackle myself. Who out there has worked on their unit to this extent? Now, how difficult to remove side panel and check terminal block and wiring to starter? Tight fit I know but possibly doable. Heading for NH next week but unsure if Cummins in Concord has a Qualified Tech or at Camping World in Chichester. Hate to pay for someone else to practice or learn "how to" at my expense. Help requested.

Check the bottom of the big wire bundle where it lays on the sharp edge of the motor mount right below the coolant tank where you take the side cover off to check oil. Just lift it up you will see the burn mark on the motor mount. If one of those rubs through and grounds out you get exactly what you describe.

Hope it's that simple.
