Generator Slide Issues

I have a 2005 HR Scepter, and the slide for the generator has stopped working.

I'm not sure if its electrical (I have replaced the switch) or mechanical.

Either way it does not operate.

Has anyone else had this issue? I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

What kind of slide is it.

Can you hear the pump motor running when you press the button?

I have a Power Gear Slide. It uses a reversible motor that provided the IN/OUT function. There is a hydraulic ram which is utilizes a lock valve type system that locks the slide in place when pressure isn't applied. This is a known problem with the slide, the lock valve sticks not allowing the slide to go in or out. You can usually take the valve block apart and clean, getting the lock valve out can be a challange, I've found it easy to get out using compressed air, wrap the valve in a towel before applying pressure as the lock valve will come out with force and you could potentially be injured or loose it if not careful.

I know mine will not work if I don't have the parking brake ON.

Mine locked closed like you are describing. I took jacwjames advice and pulled the lock valve body. With his help, it was a fairly simple job to pull it, take it apart, clean it then reinstall. It worked like new after that.
