The latch handle under the front of the my 08 Camelot is floppy. Of course this makes it inoperable. Can’t release the two latch mechanisms to slide out the generator.
I used a mirror to look up at the handle. Not much to see.
Anyone knows how this handle is supposed the be attached? It looks like a cargo door handle.

There are cables chains, adjustable tensioners, and then the latches on each side activated by the release handle.
The easiest way to see and access everything would be with a creeper.
Thanks for your reply
I can see all you’ve described
I’m trying to figure out what is supposed to how that latch handle mechanism in place
I’m confident it would release if it were held in place. It worked fine and then it’s loose floppy. It would fall out if it weren’t found the cables attached
Okay. Then then that hardware must of loosened and disappeared. Makes sense. I know when the generator is slid out all that stuff is visible. I’ll try to shim it tight enough to get it unlatched. I’m out on the road for the next couple or weeks.
Thanks again
Reach up and pull on the cables to release the catches to open it. It would be easier if someone was pulling on front as you tugged on the cables. Once opened, you will have more access to the system, and at the same time, you’ll see how it works.
I’ll be in Natchez tomorrow evening. Spending a week. I’ll get under there and get it unlatched. I’m sure I can fashion some hardware to get it secure.
It always seems most repairs are on the fly. Fortunately I was a diesel mechanic from a couple decades. Working on boats with no room to do anything.
Problem is age. Once you get down in place to do something you realize you need something else. Lol. Still love this life style
Well good news was the mounting bracket and stud was still there. Backed off the nut and repositioned. A little step lube on the moving parts and good to go. Never worked better. Thanks to those who responded
