Generator slide motor issue

Today I finished up all my maintenance items on my list. All done! I put the tools away. Cleaned up my mess. Closed the engine compartment. Hit the button to retract the generator, and nothing. The slide would not move. The solenoid clicks, but no electric motor running the pump. Next was the test light. The motor was getting current, but not spinning. About then I'm thinking it's time for a new motor. As a last ditch effort I tapped the motor on the side with a small hammer. The first and best tool known to man kind. The motor instantly took off and the slide rolled in. So I went in and out with the slide several times. Just like it never happen. No issues yet.

I know that one of those contact bars on the armature must be dirty or slightly scorched. It's working for now, but I know it's only a matter of time. Has anyone had one of these motors apart? Or worse case, where to buy a new one some day in the future.

The pump assembly on my coach is a power gear 540109. Quick internet search turned up no hits, out of stock in the couple places that showed it for sale.
It would pay to be proactive and see if you can find a fix.

Some owners with the same problem have found that the cables at the solenoid
and / or motor were not tight and tightening them fixed it .
Did you check those cables for tight ?
Disturbing them with the hammer could easily cause it to start working again .
There was a run of pump assemblies way back where the seal was leaking oil
into the motor destroying it .
However I think yours would have failed long ago if you had one of those .
