Generator slideout moves by itself!
From time to time our generator slideout moves out slightly, many 1/2" to 1", while we are driving. We know when it has happened because it creates a funny-sounding air noise. Anyone else have this problem?

Just thinking out loud, since I am not familiar with your rig.
Ours was a manual slideout, and when you pulled the handle on the front, you activated a latch via some wires. That needed lubrication from time to time, and failing to do this, the latch would not engage or disengage as expected.
If your slide is electric, it sound like the latch (which it must have, I presume) is not engaging, and that would my first place to check. Maybe it's in the need of a friendly visit by an oil can to operate?
Just an idea.
Good luck fixing it

Joe. Try this.
Assuming it’s hydraulic, like mine.
Run the slide out and when it reaches its limit, continue holding switch for 2-3 seconds. Then run the slide in and hold again for 2-3 seconds after it is fully in.
I think the check valves get a little dirt in there and they leak fluid.

The lock valve is notorious for sticking. In my case I've had it get stuck closed, and I've had to take the valve block out and blow the check valve loose.

I agree with Bill. My hydraulic cylinder used to creep forward due to it not being used much when I first purchased it. Check valve is nothing more than a spring with ball bearing and they tend to leak past the ball from lack of use. Doing what Bill suggested fixed mine.

Ditto with Bill, I read one of his previous posts, tried it and no more problems to date.

I did that today. Now we'll just wait to see if it worked! Thanks!
