Getting close!!!
About to buy a DP. Looked at a PP owned 2002 Monaco Knight 38 PBT. 28K miles. Looks in great shape ($54k). Once I get it and zero out the maintenance...we will be adding a washer/dryer. I looked at the rear axle for the trailing arm and it looks like the SE one (no bend / two piece). thanks for the pictures in previous posts on the arm. My question is the genset it's propane. I will try it out on propane consumption and decide then. Has anyone did a swap out from propane to diesel? Your experience and the cost. Thanks.
Forgot...I want to add side cameras - anyone with that experience and $$$?

For the cost of the mods you could easily move up to a better MH with those features and more. I would keep looking.

Side cams, go with these guys; very helpful and knowledgeable:
RVCams Backup Cameras and Rear View Systems
I had a Sony monitor on a previous mh and was able to add side cams by adding a Sony "multiplexer" box of some sort hooked up to R/L blinkers (in the dash). Fairly easy.

I strongly disagree.
I would find a propane generator a deal breaker. I doubt that you will find many (any) long term RV owners that recommend propane generators.

A propane generator would be deal breaker for me.
The Knight has a 4 air bag chassis, which is not what I want. I want the 8 air bag chassis.

I disconnected my side cameras. I can still select them manually. I much prefer to have my monitor act like a rear view mirror and use my normal mirrors for the sides. The cameras have a fish eye type of view and having to divert your eyes down to the monitor was not comfortable. I also modified my monitor so it sits on the dash when traveling so it is now in the line of view.
As for the generator, if you do not boondock much it does not matter much. Your propane tank may be larger than normal but I don't really know. Personally I would much prefer a diesel. I'm sure it would be many thousands to change it out.

Thanks for all the replys.
We have moved on to a 1999 Diplomat. Because of the lower price I can do some up-grades and still be ahead. It has a diesel gen and 8 air bags. $39k.

I bought a 2001 diplomat a year ago. I've used it 9 months so far
It's a great rig and I'm sure you enjoy it.
I have a washer and dryer and it's me life so much easier.
Good luck.
