they just asked me to bring the tire carcass to one of their dealers so it could be sent back to them to be analyzed.

That's very big of GY, big pointer in customer service.

Wish they would step up like that for my front tires that rivered so bad I had to replace them at less than 4 years and 24k miles.

I am also a fan of the Toyo tires. I replaced the GY's about 15K miles ago with M144s and the improvement in ride and handling was substantial. For another data point, I paid $3860 out the door for eight 295-80x22.5 without trade in. The GY were too old to trade. If they had been 6 years old or less the trade in would have been $100 per tire. Had I known that I would have acted sooner.

Cheers,
Thats a fair price mounted and balanced.... I just called the tire warehouse that I've bought Toyos before and got a price of $1072.00 for two, and I still have pick them up and find someone to mount and balance

Moving the GYs to the tags sounds like a much better idea for now.

I too had a blowout on Goodyear G670, left inside dual. 18k in damage. Coach was 2000 La Palma with 97k miles on it. Insurance company totaled it. We had crossed the country many times in it and it was a sad day to let it go. Buy new tires.

Blew a hole through the floor shower stall, destroyed bath sink cabinet and floor, underside took out both exhaust systems (engine and gen) and pulled out fuel filler and vapor hose from fuel tank. Numerous electrical conduits pulled and loose. I would suggest to anyone wavering on replacing tires to to do the right thing and buy new ones.
