Grey water dump won't open

04 Marquie that has electric dump switches. I can hear the switch trying to open the door but it will not. I removed the switch from panel to look at it a couple days ago. It looked ok and by accident it started working. Yesterday it stopped opening again. Can I reach the trap by putting my hand in from the dump side? I think it has food particles stuck in it?? Good thing is at least it is stuck in open position. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

On the passenger side of the coach opposite of the service bay there is either a false panel with latches at the bottom or a compartment door, if a compartment door there will be a false panel as well Open and setting inside are your dump valves. There will either be a flat or allen head screw (newer style has allen) Look on the flat part of the valve there will be a hump, screw is in middle of hole. Turn according to arrows near screw. These valves around that year used to get stuck when tanks were full, the weight would flex the bottoms of the tanks and then pinch the blade in the valve, simple fix build brace to hold tanks when full. The other issue they had was they installed the valves laying down (not as per valve mfg's directions) and in turn they fill with water and quit working. The only permanent fix i know of is to add manual valves. I know its tight but I have made them fit. Works pretty slick just cant see hose while dumping.

My friend with a 04 Marquis had the same problem many times. His stuck shut with the tank full and backed up in the shower. He had cable operated valves installed and they work great now.

RV geru

ok I found the false panel and opened it up for the first time?? The water tanks are there but I don't see and place where the dump valves are. My main dump is located on the other side(drivers). I have all my water controls on that side. It looks like I may have to remove the whole stainless steel plate with all the switches and water valves to get to the side where the dump valves are. I can take a picture and send it to you from my iphone if that would help. Very much appreciate your help.

Yes you have to remove the stainless panel with all the valves and switches. My friend had a tech remove the electric valves and install cable actuated valves and ran the cable handles thru where the switches were. When you remove the panel there are a ton of hoses tied to all the valves. If you take out the screws that hold in the valve assembles be carefully as they are hard to get back together ( but not impossible). His work great now. The valves are available from PPL Parts Superstore and are made by Valterra. The web site is...

My friend is real glad to get rid of those electric dump valves..
