Guardian Plates

If you have a set of sketches/drawings and specs for guardian plates I would appreciate a copy. Send me a message if you need money for printing and shipping. I have a 2007 diplomat 40skq.

Thanks,

Kenneth

If you install them on the drivers side long slide (skq), make a mental note of where the slide goes in over some plastic pieces. This slide does not use rollers as i recall.

Use some rivets that you can counter sink where the plates travel over those slide plastic pieces. Looks like cutting board material.

The reason is because the heads of the rivet will begin to dig divets in the plastic pieces and they will also leave marks on the floor.

We have a couple of pieces of carpet that I glued some simple leftover plastic to and shove those under the corners as the slide comes in..

Those large headed rivets will leave marks on the tile for sure.

Since mine have been in place long enough for the glue to set I just drilled the rivet heads out where they make contact. I still use the carpet pads inside.

They may have modified the plates by now by supplying countersunk rivets which would be ideal of course.

You need a monster rivet tool to pull the stainless rivets. Even then it takes a lot of effort. I wish I had an air driven one.

I just put Guardian Plates on my flush floor slide, they still use the same rivets, only they are really long, like over an inch.

Nice to know. They probably are not aware that those rivet head eventually dig into the plastic slider parts. I noticed my slide going in had slowed and that led me to the discovery of the rivet head issue.

Since there are plenty of rivets to hold the plates in place I just drilled the heads off after the glue had been set for months. And those long rivets are a bear to pull even with my very long rivet tool.

To be clear, I did not remove all the rivet heads. Just the ones that travel over that plastic block.
