Guardian plates almost installed

We're at Talin getting my plates installed.
Was going to do it myself but decided to just have it done.
One side is complete and it looks perfect.
I included a couple pics. The pic with the roller is actually a reflection.

Nice Congratulations.

Is the plate an L angle or straight flat piece?

If L angle mind the sealing to the wall bigly as water going inbetween may create an opportunity for issues like delamination depending on the construction of the wall... as in ply behind the fiberglass etc.

I like the roller plates they offer to keep the laminate from cracking under the slide. On a large slide those rollers would bear a lot of weight which is supported by a very narrow spot under the slide by that laminate!

I made my own. That enabled me to make them much wider. They worked out very well.

I forget but it was the same as the gage they use. I have plans too if you want them but it was pretty easy to figure out. They worked out really well.

Thanks Bob. I looked on there site, but could not find the thickness of the material. I already figured out my plans, and have a shear and brake at work.I plan on making mine wider as well.

In that case it's going to be very easy. I bought the stainless from a supplier and then had it cut and folded to my specs. I then drilled holes and you can guess the rest

To be sure, I did try and deal with Talin but it didn't work out. Having said that, my plates are much wider and totally support the floor in such a way that there will never be an issue

I did all 4 slides plus 5 additional roller plates. Looks great and should do the job. I was going to do the install myself but we had an emergency come up and I just decided to have it done. The guys at Talin were very knowledgeable and professional.

I recently Installed plates on a 2008, Holiday Rambler Neptune, that I had made at a local metal supplier -- I used 20 ga , mirror finish, 304 stainless steel -- Purchased the stainless rivets & 3M Marine mastic from Amazon -- The main thing about the install, is making sure you don`t install the rivets where they are inline with rollers or the slide block on the big slide -- I`ve seen post where the rivets were cutting a grove in the slide block -- There is no reason to install the rivets like that -- The Neptune is not my coach -- Bill Willard
