Good thought, but these early Cayman's are pretty simple. The brake system requires nothing from the TCM.

Lasse definitely has a problem with his HydroMax system.

The HydroMax gets its power boost function from the power steering pump. If flow from the power steering pump falls below a certain level, the HydroMax system then gets its power boost from a backup electric pump.

On Lasse's coach, it appears that this is not working.

I think that the hard pedal comes from some deficiency in the power steering system that only shows up when he puts the coach in reverse. Maybe it's low on power steering fluid, I'm not sure. One thing I do know is that if the backup electric pump was working, in all likelihood he would not be experiencing a hard pedal.

Hard brake

I have tried to follow the instruktion in Hydro Max manual, so I have checked the flowswitch and it seems ok. But when I checked the brakeswitch I fund out that I don't have any brakelights. It seems that maybee Marker relay is not working. How can I test it. Can I take the Horn relay and try with that, it seems that thay are the same.

Problem solved

Thanks for every tips I got. I found one fuse broked in the the room behind the driverseat on the outside. It was in a coverd area with two other fuses. And another one broked in the inverter area. It was also covered. Both were marked BRK 10. And the reason why they had broked was a ground problem in my trailer adapter
Best regards
Lasse

Good to hear that you figured it out Lasse!

So now you have the pump working, but the hard pedal you experienced should have only occurred if you had insufficient flow to the brake booster from the power steering pump.

Did the power steering get harder when you were experiencing the hard pedal? Does the steering get a little harder at low speed or when backing up? If you answered yes to either, check your power steering fluid, as well as the belt.

Good luck!

On my coach the pump runs anytime the main motor is not running. Even with the electric pump my braking is diminished.

That rascal usually scares me when I'm setting in drivers seat and hit the pedal when doing other things.
