Head unit replacement?

So I'm looking for something with XM sat and IPOD compatible to fit in the existing large opening. Any suggestions?

If you are replacing the Magnadyne radio (famous in Monaco's) it is a din and a half size and are no longer available. If you have room you can cut the opening slightly taller you can use a double din size. If yours is different let me know otherwise.

If you go with double din, the Pioneer works great. Kenwood would be another choice.

Din is the term the radio industry uses for standard radio size. Most units you normally see are about 2" + or - and are considered din size. A few years ago companies made din and a half but due to lack of demand have since stopped. A competent car audio shop would most likely have or can get an adapter that would accommodate a din size if you so choose. Good luck searching, there many choices.

Din is 7x2" and Double Din is 7x4 inches.
The Din and a Half size is 7x3 and was used on some Chysler products. No longer available BUT there is a kit for For Chrysler products which allows you to buy a widely available DIN size radio and then have a small finished pocket beneath the radio.
Now the trim kit is specific to the Chryler mount but my guess is that with a bit of creativity you could "adapt the adapter" to your dashboard for a finished look. Or...any car stereo install place could do it for you.

I heartily second the notion of using Crutchfield for your product selection. They are great and not just shippers of product.
