headlight switch

does anybody know what headlight switch was used on a 02 era santiam,dip,end. old style pull on turn for dash light brightness. thanks! jim

Jim I remember someone posting that the headlight switch was a chevy pick up H L switch, sorry dont remember the year.

Jim,
I had to replace mine because the dash rheostat would not dim the dash lights. It is the same pull switch Monaco has been using for years. I used Standard # DS205 from the parts store.

Advanced Auto Parts #5970857 for 1973 Chevy C10 truck. Just bought one. If you don't know how to remove the knob and shaft, here is how to do it. There is a very small 'tit' on the bottom with a spring under it. it is about 1/8 diameter. Push it as hard as you can, then pull the know and it should pull completely out. Then you can remove the switch from the back.

thanks, removed it today. we live in a rural area so i had to order it from napa, it will be in tomorow. the reason i had to replace mine was the same, dash light dimmer. jim

Our dash lights are way too dim....I'll get a replacement switch....very good timing on this thread for the info that I needed.
