If you can post a picture of the switch.. I am sure someone will recognize it..
Many times.. you take to good auto parts store and they could match it.. you may have to try a few..
Good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you

On the typical Monaco headlight switch (a 1972 Chevy pickup switch) you have to reach around to the back of the switch and push in a little spring loaded button. The button is on the opposite side from the electrical connector. While the button is pressed you can pull the knob out the front.

Just removed mine Brad. The black knob is press fitted to the rod. The rod is removable by getting behind the dash and depressing the spring loaded button on the body of the switch. With some wiggling the rod will pull completely out of the switch body. Now you can lift the entire unit out after you unthread the nut that holds the whole thing to the dashboard. Donít try to remove the black knob from the rod as it requires some force and will probably break as mine did. You will need the knob and rod for the new switch as they usually donít come with one. Thatís a separate purchase. Take the old switch to Napa to match it up with a new one.

switch

I realize you have solved the problem but am adding this for anyone doing a search in the future.

The pdf has a couple of links to videos showing how to remove the switches.

Email HR and give them your VIN number. They will give you a part number. Punch the number in google search and you'll be surprised how many rv/automotive outlets carry them.

I'll bet you they give you a HR (Monaco) part number so you can buy it from HR at three times the cost - but that part number will be useless anywhere else.
