Heat shield for exhaust pipe

A repairman told me that my 2005 Signature probably used to have a heat shield fixed to the fiberglass body around the exhaust pipe because there was some residue of something. Any thoughts on this? Where would I find a replacement? It seems like a good idea to have a heat shield in that location. Thanks!

There are many heat shield products out there. Really depends on your specific need. If you can get pictures up here for people to look at, also show what the heat source is you are needing to shield. This will narrow down the product(s) you need. Many of these products are stick on, pretty simple to install.

I fabricated a heat shield out of a piece of thin sheet metal and a couple brackets.
