HELP! Front leveling jack won't retract

When getting ready to leave my boondocking spot the front leveling jack would not retract. It appears that the base plate, to which the springs attach, has come off of the ram.
Is there a way that I can manually retract the ram and hopefully reattach the base plate and springs.
Any help would be appreciated as I am currently stuck in the forest.

Manual retraction is done with a shovel and some pieces of wood. The stem has to be set to store and additional lengths of wood are added until the jack is up. If you can't get the springs back on once it is up then tie it up with coat hang wire until you can. Search on spring installation later and see how to put them back on. I prefer the cloth spin method.

Tried everything I could come up with.
Ended up just removing it for later diagnosis.
