Help, leaving on a trip and one of four slides not working
My BEDROOM ROADSIDE SLIDE(electric) WILL NOT EXTEND OR RETRACT, NO NOISE, NO MOTOR SOUND; THE OTHER BEDROOM AND BOTH FRONT SLIDES WORK.Sorry for the caps. Checked the relay fuse & circuit breaker and the house panel fuse.
Any ideas?

RE Caffey
Start the engine and set the idle with the cruise control about 1200 or 1400 rpms for a few minutes and then try the slide again. I have to do this with my Fleetwood. If you have chairs or anything else heavy move it of the slider this also helps.
The slides are powered from the chassis batteries and it says in my manual to high idle the engine to move slides in or out.
I hope this helps

You may also want to check the switch itself. Sticky switches were causing me this problem for both the bedroom slide and the front leveling post.

Have you tried standing on your right foot with your left hand in the air and your tongue in your left cheek while pushing the button......sorry! I couldn't resist.

Sorry, I don't know the Cayman systems but on our Camelot we had a similar problem to your initial problem. It turns out that the plug that supplies power to the slide drive motor was not firmly seated on the control circuit board. The switches that operate the slides only provide a low power signal to the control board which in turn uses relays to provide higher power to the slide motors. The board for the rear slides is somewhere in the bedroom of the coach and probably very near a removable cover - ours was in the closet near the floor.
I have got to believe that there is some other problem that prevented all slides from working - maybe the key was on - there is a safety interlock between the ignition switch and slide operating system.
Finally, if you have wiring diagrams (maybe someone here has one if you don't) there will be a 12V diagram of some sort that will help you track the problem the control board location.
This is bit of a stab in the dark on your problem but might be helpful. First thing to check is to see if the rear slide motor makes any noise when you operate the control switch, hum or anything. If it does you may not have an electrical problem but a mechanical one.
On a lighter note, I can tell you it takes about a million cranks on a ratchet wrench to bring in the short bedroom slide on our rig if the power fails.

Reading some of the other posts - I emphasize, on your rig you cannot operate the slides with the ignition switch on. There is a safety interlock on Monaco built rigs.

I don't have a Monaco, but I had a very similar problem. Mine turned out to be a bad relay on the slide room controller board. I ended up replacing the whole controller because the relays were soldered on. The replacement board had socketed relays.
You can test it by swapping the outputs on the controller. If the problem moves to a different slide room, it's the relay. If it doesn't, it might be a switch, a fuse, or a motor.

I agree with LewF, after a lot of frustration chasing a intermittent problem I spread all the male pins out slightly on the slide out module plugs and I have not had a problem since. I now keep a 1/2" reversible drill with a 3/4" socket and adapter on board, powerless slides go in and out much quicker and easier. If you need a diagram PM me and I'll send what I have.

Is that really necessary for a guy that has a real problem? I don't think you would be amused if your slides weren't working.

Thanks Lew my slideout relay contol board is located in my battery bay I'll check the plug; maybe I loosened the connection when checking the fuses.
