Angry HELP - Slide is stuck

I have a 98 Monaco Diplomat. I am at the campground and while putting my slide out, I noticed that it was moving very slowly on the way out. About 1/2 way out, it stopped. Now when I push the button for "in", it only moves a little bit. The same with the "out" button. It is stuck 1/2 way out, now.

Any ideas where to start 1st. Is there a mechanical way to get the slide out all the way?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Slide help

Sorry to hear about your problem. I have a 2000 Dutch Star. My slide is operated by a single electric motor with a drive shaft throught the motor. There is a large compression fitting, I don't remember the technical name, on the shaft. The compression nut came loose and was not tight around the drive shaft and was slipping on the shaft. The bolt requires an 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" wrench to tighten the nut down. It requires about 125ft/lb of torque. Mine was located under the coach in the basement near the middle of the slide. I did not have a wrench big enough so I got a couple of guys to help me push the slide in and locked it in place. I had it tightened when I got to a maintenance site. I hope this helps.

Good Luck,

Dane, I have a 2001 Diplomat PBD and my slide motor is under the bed. If you feel under the mattress at the foot of the bed you will find 3 or 4 wood screws that are screwed into the wood from the bottom. Remove these screws and remove your mattress and the bed support is hinged at the slide end. Lift the mattress support and you will see your motor and drive mechanism. Good luck, George

What are the chances of you having dead or very low batteries? Will the interior lights work if you unplug the coach, engine not running? Have you tried holding the emergency start switch in while operating the slide control switch?

If yours is similar to mine (it's my understanding it is, but I don't know that for a fact) this system is electric, and needs pretty much fully charged batteries to function.
