help with 06 Dynasty Platinum III - info before buying

Hi,

I'm looking at a 2006 Monaco Dynasty Platinum III with a Cummins 400hp 8.8L with tag axle. Allison trans. 90k miles. Roadmaster.

Can you tell me if there is anything specific with this model that I should look out for?

Thank you as always.
Jeff

Look at the edges of the slides and make sure the edge seals are in good shape. YouTube AZ Expert has a video on the issue with Monaco slides. Not a problem if maintained. Of course all the none make & model items common to all Motorhome inspections.

Some Cummins ISL's between serial # range 46543077 to 46603939 (October 2005-April 2006), had issues with a machining defect in the wrist pin bushing. If not caught, catastrophic engine damage can occur.

Check the engine serial number. Cummins would have record of it being repaired, or not, if the engine does fall within those serial numbers.

I'd also check bottom of slides for water/rot damage. There's a easy fix, if caught in time, using the guardian plates.

Subframe cracked welds around rear axles. Most were short uprights that support house structure ,not the main raised frame to suspension components . Rare but check shock mounts usually upper front I think.

The engine serial number is before the pin issue so that's good.
And I'll take a close look at the other things that were mentioned. Thank you all.

Here are links to 4 youtube videos for Monaco units from the AZ RV Expert.
I don't own a motorhome and I doubt I will ever own one - but I love watching this guy do these inspections. DW will even watch them because generally he does do a tour of the interiors. She likes that part - not so much the roof inspection!
