Hercules H601 Tires

Just replaced all tires w/ Hercules H601's. Delayed last year due to budget constraints. Glad it's done! All tires were OEM dated 2003. Scary, to say the least.

Looking forward to seeing how they handle after all this mess is over. It's just starting to pick up in north central PA, our preparations are ramping up, & we expect the spit to hit the fan in another week or so.

Highly recommend Taylor's Creekside Tires in Williamsport, PA for anyone passing through the area in need of commercial tire service..

Good choice! I put 6 Hercules H-902's on five+ years ago. They ride great and show no signs of wear after 25k miles. I keep them aired up to placard specs, tire covered and soap and water clean, that's it. Gonna buy another set in a few years, and sell these 22.5's to a trucker.

Could you provide the price you paid?

I just priced a set of Toyo's for my Windsor and it was ~$3300 out the door. I am going to hold off right now as we aren't planning any trips until things settle down.

My 902's have been great, wear even and a good ride, about 27,000 miles. I would buy again.....all 6 balanced with front end alignment was $2,500.

Just put a set of Hercules Strong Guard HRAs to replace a set of 2012 Yokohamas. Only drove it home 20 miles but the ride was fine. The Yokohamas were good tires but had a slight howl on the freeway, the Hercules do not. I do hear and feel a little more of small bumps but I'm listening for the slightest difference and these are new tires vs 8 year old tires. It's subtle that's for sure. I recently put new tires on my motorcycle and noticed the same thing - I suspect new tires are a little firmer than old tires. Also I'm running a slightly larger tire - 275s vs 255s on the Safari. $2300 mounted and balanced for 6.

I ran DoubleCoins on the rear of my previous rig and they were fine - no complaints at all, but they didn't come in the size I needed for this rig.

Price

Jim J, $2536 for all 6 out the door, including stems, spin balancing, & disposal of old tires. 6% PA sales tax included, too.

I replaced drive axel and tags with H-601's in 2015. I run Bridgestone R268's on the steering axel. It's been a few years but I paid $2,815 out the door at GCR Tire in Spokane for 6 tires. I was very skeptical at first and didn't want to buy these tires but there were no other tires in all of Spokane in this size and we were passing through at the time. One of my awful Goodyears had blown out and we needed tires. I've never looked back. They run smooth and quiet and hold their air pressure really well. I use Counteract beads in them for balance. I've put over 30K miles on them and there is virtually no wear showing. They are a good tire and I would buy them again in a hearbeat.
