Hi/Lo Headlights not working

Ok, did a little searching couldnt find this exact issue. While driving early morning, I lost my headlights, no low or high beams. Everything else works, running lifts, parking, blinkers, driving lights.
At the rest stop, I did a quick check in the drivers side front run bay for bad fuses, didnt initially see anything. Its daylight so I kept a driving! Any ideas? 2008 Camelot.

Perry, try opening the dash up and twisting the headlight switch to relax the wires. Happened to me recently.

Sorry for your trouble. Are they OEM headlights? Are you getting good voltage at the bulb connection? Could both bulbs have gone bad?

At any rate if they are OEM headlights, on or off doesn’t seem to make much difference, since they are so bad.

Perry,

Folks have had trouble with the SmartWheel circuit that controls the headlights. I am not sure of the details but it has something to do with insufficient current carrying capacity. The fix is to add an external relay and let the SmartWheel control the relay. This might be your problem. I will look and see if I can find more information.

Here are some things I found that might help.

I would guess it is relay in the front run bay.
On mine, there are several shown on the wiring diagram. There were also 2 more NOT shown. They were added to reduce the voltage drop. Mine are extreme upper left, not on the main board.

Ok, little update on our diagnostics progress. Still no headlights, now I lost my cruise control on smart wheel. Have everything else. All fuse check good, going through VIP wheel controller and actual light switch.

Ok before going any further, Happycarz (Harry), lets do a complete reboot, no shore, disconnect batteries. Lets see what happens.

I had the same thing happen to us on our 2007 HR Scepter. No 12 v at the headlights. All known fuses re headlights checked OK so we thought. I ended up finding the headlight wire in the cluster of wires going from the electrical compartment through the wall into the generator compartment. Traced it to find it made a u-turn back through the wall to a connector attached to the bottom of the box that holds all the fuses. Detached the connector and lo and behold a fuse inside that was blown. Replaced fuse and all has worked for the last 5 years. I know where that little sucker is now not shown in the electrical schematics diagram. I was told by RV centre it was a smart wheel controller issue. So now I have lights and a spare controller.

I may be needing a controller - still troubleshooting but looking more and more like controller issue. If your is a SM210 Rev C? If yes, and you want to sell it, PM me.

Do you have any pictures? Maybe point us to the location to search where in the left run panel. It started as no headlight, then two days later I have no cruise control, everything else on wheel works, except light flash and cruise. Thx for info so far.

That is the same as mine but I am going to keep it as a spare. Sorry. I got it online from Northwest RV Supply ( Northwest RV Supply ) It was 5 years ago but if I remember correctly it was around $140 US.
