Hi "faye"...welcome to iRV2!! I might suggest that you check out the Monaco Owners Forum because Holiday Rambler is part of the Monaco RV line. Are you looking at a new HR or is it a used one? Which model HR are you looking at? There may be differences of opinion-depending on the model...

Again- welcome to iRV2..we hope you visit often!

It depends on the model you choose within the HR line-up. I chose the Scepter because of the options and it had the floorplan we wanted. The Scepter's twin in the Monaco line-up is the Camelot.

Hey Faye, I have an Endevour which is comparable to the Monaco Diplomat. We love it, however the previous high fuel costs put a crimp in our travels. Max 8.1 mph. Don't know what is going to happen because of Monaco's reorganization.

We own (for about a year) a 2007 HR Scepter 42PLQ. Bought it because of the floorplan and options. Moved up from a gasser. No problems to date and it's a pleasure to drive.

If it is the Neptune make sure you drive on some rough roads. I have a Monaco Caymen which is the same and the ride leaves a lot to be desired. I made the mistake of not finding some below average pavement to test drive.
