Holiday Rambler Sceptre...are they any good?
My DW and I purchased our (new to us) 05 Holiday Rambler Sceptre 38 PDQ this past winter. I never read any info on the sceptre on this forum. In fact it is never mentioned. Was it not very popular? Is it not a very good coach? I hear of Navigators, Endeavors, but never Sceptres....We really like the coach but now I am not sure what we bought. Hopefully we don't have the EDSIL of motor homes..
Just curious..
Thx

Just a personal opinion but I suspect it may have to do with the fact that the Scepter was one of Holiday Ramblers more expensive coaches so there were fewer of them sold.

TEDDE - You have purchased a great rig!! The Sceptre is HR's answer to the Monaco Camelot...and did you think that maybe you never read anything about them because they never have problems?!!
You don't need to worry about owning the "Edsel" of RVs.

Thanks for all your replies. I feel better now. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have luck at all...perhaps that is changing..
I knew I could count on this forum to advise me...

Purchased our 2007 HR Scepter in 2007. Wow, still impressed with in after a few years. Had some problems, but nothing more than you would expect in wringing out a new unit. Still love the rig. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours.

A Scepter would be high on my wish list. Plus, 2005 seems to be a very good quality year for Monaco and HR products.

We purchased our 2007 Scepter in 2009 and have not had any major problems with it that weren't easily fixed by bringing the problem here to the forum. We have the 42 PLQ with the window in the rear. Would have liked a larger bathroom but with just me and the Mrs not a problem. Love that ten air bag ride. You've got a quality coach - congrats!

We have a 2005 HR Scepter 38PDQ. Got it a little over a year ago and still love it. Have had a few problems but I fixed them myself so far. Have done a few mods to improve it. It has been a solid rig for us.

As with most of the pre-Navistar models, Monaco and HR have companion models. The Scepter is the same as the Camelot. So what ever you read about a Camelot will be applicable to the Scepter most of the time. I have a 08 Camelot 40 PDQ and its a great motor home.

Well, if you look at my name you will know what I drive
It's a 2001, 38PDQ. I did my research before I bought it and found it to be a high quality unit. It's been problem free for me. I get compliments all the time about how luxerious it is.
You will love it!
