Hoses Replace
Well started replacing all coolant hoses 3 days and still working on them what a job. Had one bad lower hose so decided to replace them all. Looking at the new hoses I can see Monaco used some cheap hoses, no springs in the radius hoses. The heater hoses are the hardest to replace and everything is tye wrapped together.

We have an 04 Essex which also had the least expensive heater hoses and in the 1st 3 years had 3 times were cabinets were flooded with coolant from bursting. Replaced with marine grade heater hoses with over 200 feet and put gate valves both at engine and Hydro-Hot and heater core. Over 900$ and 40 plus hours of labor. Great coach but this was a real problem, Ours wasn't the only one with this problem since we have fixed other coaches too.

I change all belts and hoses every 50,000 miles and keep the old ones for spares. Learned when I was a kid they always let go on the hottest day of the year far from home.

Yea you could never do some of these hoses along side of the road and they do use cheap hoses, you can tell when you look at them compared to the new hoses. The heater hoses would probably last a long time but the rad hoses on mine were getting pretty soft.

I`m replacing coolant hoses also -- This is on a 07 Camelot, 400 Cummins ISL, that has a side radiator -- The picture I`m posting, is where the two heater hose connect to the block -- My question is, has any of you installed a shut off valve there - Like the previous poster stated, it would be a nightmare to repair if a heater hose ruptured -- I think on some coaches, that there is a shut off valve -- Bill Willard

Attempted to install shutoff valves, but they were in the the way of the alternator -- So, I needed the alternator more than the valves & had to remove them -- Bill Willard

Mr. Great Dane -- It does seem that I have more excuses than ability -- I use to be good at bluffing my way thru these things, but I guess the years has caught up to me -- We still have safety meetings ever Friday afternoon -- Bill Willard

I'll better attend one of these shortly - just to make sure that everything is "shipshape and Bristol fashion".
