Just got a reply from Monaco...they really do respond quickly with good info. The 98 Dynasty does not have a EMS system. They said it could be a thermostat problem or control board on the ac unit itself. So will have to check and see if the thermostat is getting power first. If so then up top on the roof for voltage check. I have the wiring diagram book so will have to ring out the wiring run !

I'm not familiar with your built in monitoring system, but I'd strongly recommend getting a Progressive Industries Electrical Management System to protect your RV. The PI EMS won't connect if the pedestal is not within safe specifications. It has a display telling you volts, amps, and Hertz. If voltage drops to damaging levels, it will shut off the power until it's back in the safe zone. The best thing about the PI EMS is it's lifetime warranty. They will repair or replace the unit forever. Part of it's function is to be a surge protector. If you are hit by a truly strong surge (lightening) the surge protection sacrifices itself. They still replace/repair it, no charge!

I got the coach fixed at Buddy Gregg in Knoxville. They found nothing wrong with the ac units. They plugged in 50 amp power and after the normal delay the units fired right up. Suspect that the campground shore power had low voltage problems. Now i have bought the Progressive EMS-HW50C Electrical Management System - Hardwire 50A w Digital Remote Display and will install myself next week. I need to find it on the coach first ! I assume it is located between the coach exterior receptacle and the transfer switch ?

Mine is in the shore cord, installed in the compartment that stores the cord. It's fastened to the back wall of the compartment, right before the cord disappears into the interior and the transfer switch. I know it doesn't protect the RV from the generator power, but I'm not as concerned about faulty generator power as I am about outside electrical sources.
I have a regular phone line splitter in the display cord. The branch is then plugged in to my phone jack that ties into phone jacks in the RV. My display is in the shore cord compartment so I can monitor power after I hook up, then if I wish, I can bring it into the RV and continue to observe from inside the RV. I seldom do move it inside, but in places where the power might be iffy, I have brought it in to watch it.

Thanks Bob... I see you have a Beetle as a toad ? DW wants a Beetle convert. and leaning towards pulling it on a open bed trailer. Not sure if i like the toad set-up. Have a 10,000 lb hitch on the coach.

My transfer switch is located in the small bay where the water heater, inverter, water pump, and manablock system is.
I've investigated the installation of a progressive surge protector but haven't done it yet. The way my transfer switch is located will be a tight fit to get in there and mount, doable but tight.

We've towed a 2000 beetle turbo gas for the last 7 or 8K miles. In my humble opinion, it is too low for a good toad. If you get on a road where the whole rig starts to "hobby horse", sometimes the safety cable attach points on the toad or the lower facia will hit the road. You also have to be very careful when pulling off the road into a gas stations or crossing a deep gutter. The transition from road bed to bridges and back can sometimes be unnerving. I would pick a vehicle with more ground clearance the next time.
