House batteries
I have a 2008 Camelot and the house batteries have gone bad (fluid level got very low, my fault, thought they were sealed batteries). Does anyone have recommendations for good replacement batteries? Are they 12V Deep Cycle?

Welcome to the forum! Yep, your house batteries should be deep cycle. There are varying opinions on the best brands. I have tried Walmart's MAX batteries and didn't have very good luck with them. Now I have Costco's and we'll see how they hold up. I liked buying from both places because we travel a great deal and I could get their warranty honored while on the road.
Good luck...

You should have a quantity of 4, 6 volts deep cycle batteries. Make sure you get fresh batteries when you buy them. (According to the date of manufacture).
Better check your house batteries too. (Those are 12 volts deep cycle).

I think Cayman meant to say you chasis batteries are 12 volt and they ARE NOT deep cycle.

I got group 27 "Duracell" deep cycle at Sam's Club for $69 each last Summer. 3 year warranty, which is better than most.
If I was planning to keep the MH for more than 4 years, I would have gone with Trojan 6 volt.

Depending on how long you left them low.. They ****MIGHT**** recover.. Try before you buy.
DEEP CYCLE, is indeed the best, finding true DEEP CYCLE batteries in a 12 volt format is kind of expensive.. This is why they use six volt pairs.. like 1/2 or less the price.
Sam's club has about the best price on the GC-2 Size battery.

I haven't replaced the 6 volt batteries on my coach but I did on my boat. I replaced all 12 house batteries with Interstate and had great luck with durability and longevity. I know they stand behind their batteries and make sure they are fresh and charged when sold. I don't think you can go wrong with Interstate brand.

Be sure to check the AmpHour rating of the existing house batteries. Unless you don't dry camp and are always at sites with electric, you will probably want at least as much AH capacity.
Two of the better manufacturers: Trojan and US Battery
Trojan Battery Company
http://www.usbattery.com
check out their websites; they should be able to point you to a nearby dealer.
