How deep IS the Norcold 1210?

Our Nearcold is working fine at the moment but I can see the day coming when it will quit and I want to have a plan ready when that happens. The Samsung is just too tall, it requires too much surgery to our lovely woodwork. There are a couple of 16-18 cu' Whirlpool models that look more promising.
What did you find when you pulled the 12xx out? The Norcold spec says it takes a 24" deep opening. Once it is out and the plumbing and piping are rationalized did you find any additional depth to be had? Even a couple of inches would open up more choices.

Have you opened the outside hatch and measured the space from the back of the fridge to the inside of the wall? Often there is space for air circulation up the back and that space could be reclaimed when installing a new fridge. In addition, is the Norcold sitting on a box or is down to the floor? If raised, that space can be reduced to allow a taller unit to go in the place of the Norcold. I've seen threads where people have been able to gain inches by reducing the space over the furnace, often tucked under the fridge space.

On my 07 neptune i have exactly 27" from the exterior wall to the face of the cabinet the fridge was in. I just removed the norcold Saturday from mine and it was just over 24" deep with the doors removed. It fit out the entry door pretty easily.

I did that but can't see into or access the whole bay until the Norcold comes out.

That's just what I was looking for, thanks.

Thanks folks,
