Hi, all - newbie here. We're very close to buying our first class A, and we really like the Monarch 30 SFS or PDD. We're trying to stay short to get into smaller state park campgrounds, but want nice fit and finish. Comparing the Monarch to the Winnie Sightseer 29R.
One thing confuses us about the Monarch, however. We understand it's very important to level carefully to avoid cracking or popping the windshields. Yet the 30' model does not have automatic levelers, even as an option. Is there any reason we couldn't have a leveling system installed in the aftermarket? All of them I've seen are four-point. I understand that Monaco uses the three-point system rather than four-point to protect the windshields - would we be setting ourselves up for problems if we installed a four-point? As an alternative, could we install an aftermarket airbag system and use that for leveling in addition to suspension?
Many thanks for your thoughts; lots of useful information here!

I'm not familiar with the Manarch models, but curiosity caused me to take a look at the Monaco web site. It shows that in 08 all Monarchs have the hydraulic leveling system as standard equipment. In 07 it is shown as an option on the smaller Monarch SVE models (the 30' ones). Didn't look back further than that.

Robin_M is right they all have auto leveling, ...Powergear.
I had the 30PDD and it's standard. It's a good coach, well worth your consideration.

Robin and Corkey - thank you for your quick replies. That's great news; I just didn't (and still don't) see levelers included on the specs for the Ford or Workhorse chassis used for the 30' Monarch. My eyes ain't what they used to be, that's for sure. I do see "Fully Automatic Hydraulic Leveling System" listed as standard equipment for the Ford and Workhorse chassis used for the larger models.
Corkey - you were obviously happy with the Monaco PDD if you've bought a HR Endeavor, so that says a lot about your satisfaction with the company.
thanks again, gentlemen

Hi Brucemcdou
We had a Monarch 30PDD, 2005 Model, prior to our current unit. It was a very good unit and I understand that they have made additional improvments since then. The unit did come with a hydralic leveling system as standard equipment. If I remember right it was a quad system. The 05 model did not have the PANA-VIEW windshield so the issue of "PoPing windshields" was not much of a concern. We used the "automatic" leveling all the time. On our new unit we just use the manual method to level the MH.
I think you will enjoy the Monarch. It was very easy to drive and it can get into some of those "tight" NP's campgrounds.
Good Luck, Enjoy
