How long should AGM batteries last on an all electric coach?

I have an all electric 2003 Monaco Signature Commander. I replaced all House batteries, 8 AGM, 2 and 1/2 years ago. They are no longer holding a charge. is this a normal service life for someone that uses the coach about 4 months a year and keeps it plugged in year round on 120V? Kind of a bummer since the cost is about $3500.

???

AGM batteries need a particular float voltage. If your settings are low, their life could be shortened.

One of AGMs weakness's is shortened life, not being stored at 100% state of charge.

You can find that info in the LifeLine Battery guide.

That sounds a little too short.
These batteries are pretty resilient and can be brought back to life.
Once they get down to 10.8v they need to be "restored" not replaced.

Google AGM Battery Restore or resurrecting.

That still sounds high. 8 x $300 for Lifelines including tax.

The OP said he has 8 batteries. I doubt they are 8D's.

???

What brand and model charger do you have? Does it have specific AGM programable charging parameters? Could be the charger you are using is causing the early death of the AGM batteries by under or over charging them. AGM batteries should NOT be routinely equalized.....your charger might be doing that every 30 days if it thinks regular flooded batteries are connected.

I also just lost a set of 2 year old AGM batteries. I also believe it was incorrect setup on my inverter/charges that contributed to the problem. I found my factory settings were way off from what they should have been for AGM's. Correct settings from the battery manufacture are crucial.

As others have said, you need to make sure your charger is set for AGM batteries. On another note, is your BigBoy solenoid operating properly allowing the batteries to be charged when you are plugged in. When I purchased my Lifelines the dealer told me that if I called him back needing batteries before nine years he would chew me out for not properly maintaining them. He said to leave the coach plugged in when not in use and to be sure that my Magnum charger was set for AGM batteries. I did have to replace my BigBoy solenoid as these are wear out item that gets a lot of use. Some have been able to take theirs apart and clean them, but mine was shot and needed replaced.

My coach had AGM batteries in it when I bought it. They are 6 years old and still hold a charge pretty well.
