How to check antifreeze in recovery tank

there seems to be a flat area inside the tank itself about 6/7 " from cap. Used a mirror and can see a round hole (and the red antifreeze liquid below) on the side of that flat (screen?). Have tried to use the tester, but hose to short to reach liquid. Have two feet of clear tubing, but unable to get thru hole and reach liquid. Suggestions??

Add water to raise level then drive and shut down a few times. With the level up you should then be able to test. Another option would be to remove the return hose and drain enough to be able to use it for a test.

How about draining a little out of the radiator drain petcock (or lower rad hose petcock) if you have one).

Then top off with 50/50 mix (or whatever is needed to get the correct protection and level) when done.
