How to remove the rail around the RV

2004 Beaver Monterey. I need to remove a piece of the rail that goes above the basement doors. I am talking about the 2 1/2" to 3" trim piece that goes all the way around the RV just above the basement doors.

It looks like there is an aluminum piece that must screw to the motor home with a cover that looks like it either snaps over that piece of slides in from the ends. I have removed the end caps but can't really see how it is connected. I can pry it up from the bottom a bit but I am afraid that is not the correct way to do it and do not want to do any damage. I can't imagine it slides into place that looks to be a tough to remove it if that is the case.

Does anyone know how this piece comes off?

Thanks in advance

I worked at it long enough to figure out it is actually glued with some kind of construction adhesive. After I took the end caps off it is just a case of going really slow getting up between the outer cover and aluminum bracket. It figures this was the longest one on the coach.

I did the required work, cleaned it all up, put construction adhesive back on it and re-installed it. There isn't much of a lip to hang it on so it is a bit of a pita with one person. Now hopefully the adhesive holds.

are you just removing the plastic trim or do you need to get the belt line off?

I needed to get beyond the beltline. As stated above mine turned out to be aluminum. I did get it done. Thanks
