HR Endeavour No furnace after opening up for the season
Just got my HR Endeavour (2007) out of winter storage..
I plugged it in, opened the propane valve. The first thing I usually do is to open the gas range to purge any air in the lines...This always takes about 30 seconds of hissing then as it should, it lit up no problem.
I set my fridge to LP and, also, it came on with no errors.
I went to turn on my furnace, Up here in Canadas it is still cold, and turned on my Thermostat. I chose zone 1,because I am only in 15 amp 110 Vac plug, but when I choose the Mode button, It only displays "Cool" or "Fan Speed".While I repeatedly press the mode key...it never cycles to the HEAT program.
I used the coach in October and again its was cold and had the furnace running no problem.
I read my manual for the coach and it mentioned having good batteries, and a reset switch inside the cover of the furnace.I even tried starting, first there genie then the engine...and still not even a fan running.
Something must be wrong because the fan doesn't even come on.
I haven't checked the 12V fuses as of yet, I am going back later today and will do that, But I don't understand why the 5 Button controller docent have the heat option even displaying.
I know these 5 button thermostats are problematic so I am going to look up the reset procedure.
Does anyone have any suggestions I could try?
Much appreciated;
Steve

Low voltage stuff doesn't maintain continuity well especially when any sort of dampness is present. Contact surfaces oxidize when in extended periods of disuse preventing good current flow. Good luck sorting through it!!!

I agree your on right track no heat on thermostat ,no furnace. Someone shared setup and reset for these, I'm sure I printed and stowed in binder. It seems to be zones issues when it comes up. My zones could care less what other is doing lol. I would rather have the old 70s looking one in bedroom.I can change or adjust in the dark by feel . My 5 button is mounted sideways, I need my readers to "really" read it. It only controls my AC/heatstrip. The AH zones have there own honeywell twist thermostats. I'm perfectly fine with that , Oh and one more for whole house fan that I really love.

I had some type of problem with my stat. I do remember I had to go to zone 1 and mode and turn it off then to zone 2 and mode and turn it off. Then I could turn on the furance in zone 1.

I believe that it is a continuity issue as well. I work in Telecomm and this particular issue raises its ugly head in older equipment in my field. Bantam jacks and monitor jacks get "Shellacked" as they sit there over the years. I think this is a similar situation. I am going to remove it today...clean all the contacts on the 4 conductor phone jack and inspect the "on/off" switch. In my reading on this I have discovered that only springs make the power on off connection and they are particularly prone to oxidation as well in some cases the switch is not well soldered to the pc board. Mechanical type failures. I have a procedure to reprogram the thermostat and after cleaning I will make sure everything reports to the thermostat correctly. Cool, Heat,Fan and heat pumps in both zones. Thanks for the help with the suggestions.
Cheers;
Steve

Yes, sounds like could be fretting corrosion.
Another possibility, maybe someone set the rear to AC at some point. At least on my Owner's manual, I can't set conflicting operation front to rear. I have not actually tried what would happen.

Just a thought:
System reset
Turn off
Hold mode and zone buttons down while switchiing to on.
FF should appear in the lcd until the mode and zone buttons are released.

Well now I have really done it... I looked at the "NO FURNACE" thing again today..
I tried a reprogramming of the thermostat - turn off thermostat - remove 12v DC fuse for 5 minuets - replace 12 V fuse - wait another 5 minuets - press then "up and down" buttons and wait for it to go into programming mode... It did not... It still onlly reports. Fan and cool and then the screen goes out.. I did a power on of the Thermostat with the Mode and Zone buttons pressed and an "FF" came on the screen... when I released the buttons..an "EE" comes on the screen. Now when I power on the thermostat. only the "EE" is displayed. Prior to that, I found phone jack wires behind the thermostat and in the front AC cover. I cleaned and looked for corrosion on all these cables but did not find and visible problems. My 12 V dc is on and it is at 12.6 vdc. I have to find out what I have done and get the thermostat off the "EE" code. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
Steve

I did this but now I get an "EE" displayed on the screen. You possibly know why that is?

I assume you exercised any plugs on or near the thermostat? You might try turning off all power to the rv. That is, disconnecting the batteries. Large shut off switches will usually do it. This does a real power down reset to things. There is 12 volts going to the AC units and the boards could get confused.
If no joy, you may need to drop the ceiling registers off to get to a telephone type connector and give it some exercise.

Is your stat the one you can switch between front and rear settings for the AC/heatpump, but only stat one controls the propane furance?
