As Steve said, call Essex. In the mean time, if you're looking for something to do, I'd check, to the extent practical, the wiring and relays that actuate the door locks.
There are two wires going to each lock actuator, probably green and blue. When the system initiates the lock function, one wire will momentarily have +12VDC and the other will be Ground. When the unlock function is initiated the conditions are momentarily reversed.
Since it seems to happen only during "lock", as opposed to "unlock", there is a good possibility that one of your actuator wires is intermittently contacting ground through frayed insulation or a loose connection. There is a pair of relays that accomplish the polarity reversing action mentioned above and they might be a good place to look as well. That is to say swap them with other relays to see if the problem persists.
