HR Neptune Air Compressor Info needed
I have a 2005 Holiday Rambler Neptune (same as Monaco Cayman) and the engine driven air compressor has gone out. (Actually leaking oil) (Cummins ISB-300 Engine) Service place has not been able to get information on the compressor part number. If anyone has any information on the compressor, I'd be REALLY grateful as I am about to leave on a trip. Thanks!!!!

JEEP, have you gone up on the net and tried to search yourself , if you search you can find lots of compressors, select the one that looks similar to yours and dig for parts list. Sometimes service centers don't search if their books don't have things in black and white. Lots of pictures on the net for you to identify .

Have you been to "Cummins Quick Serve" with your engine serial number ?

I just went into my Quickserve account and the compressor is listed. Took the part number and did a quick search and found after market compressor for ~$800. If you get the number make some calls to Cummins parts suppliers and you should be able to find new or remanufactured.

Our build sheet lists the conpressor make and model. No luck with local auto parts stores. I was able to locate one online at a truck supply.

Thanks to all who replied.
My build sheet only lists the engine, not the compressor. I went to Quickserve and using my engine serial number nothing comes up for the compressor. (Actually 3 items that are support arms - nothing else) I have the free quickserve account, so I guess they limit severely the information I can get.
I think the hangup with my shop is that they have been trying to work with Monaco. I have tried to convince them that Monaco isn't very helpful with the older non REV coaches.
If anyone has any further info, I'd be grateful.
Thanks!
Don

I also have the free Quickserve account but in my case it shows the compressor.
After logging in I go to the "Option View" and the compressor is listed down the list. Click on the item and it brings up the parts page.
Try checking again, you might get lucky.
FWIW, Cummins has changed the layout of the Quickserve site in IMHO I do not think it was for the better.

Jim:
Thanks, I found the compressor.
You are right, the site is very confusing. I had a login a long time ago, but when I tried to use it, I couldn't get in. Finally I just made a new acct.
Hopefully this is the compressor that is actually on the engine. The service shop is saying that it isn't a Cummins compressor. Hopefully they're wrong.
Thanks again for the tip.
Don

Did the Quickserve info , list the compressor manufacturer ?
Cummins doesn't build their own air compressors , I'd expect them to be Bendix or another supplier.

The part number for my compressor is 3949101, when I do a search I do not find Cummins compressors but other brands like Wabco or Bendix. Plenty of remanfuactured compressors out there with a wide range of prices.

Well this is embarrassing. I was on the phone with the shop this morning and I come to find out they were talking about the A/C compressor not the air compressor. That's why he told me it wasn't a Cummins compressor. UGH!
Anyway, I provided him with the model from my build sheet and he's getting one for me.
So THANKS to all who took time to reply, I really appreciate your help.
And the good news is that the A/C compressor is about 1/10 the price of the air compressor. And it's available!
Regards,
Don Coleman
